As a way to increase visibility on campus, Career Services offers sponsorship opportunities to organizations. The following is a brief description of those options.
Etiquette Dinners
Two Etiquette Dinners are offered each academic year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Etiquette dinners provide students with an opportunity to practice professional approaches to fine dining. During the meal, company sponsors will network with students and be recognized for their support of the event. Companies may sponsor one or more tables; please contact Annette Haynes at 816-235-2588 or haynesa@umkc.edu if you have any questions.
Virtual Career Fairs back to top
Participating in virtual career fairs is a great and cost effective way for you to reach students without ever living your office! Career Services manages three virtual career fairs during the academic year. Two of the virtual career fairs are active at the same time as our main fall and spring career fairs, which allows employers to talk with students, alumni and community members before and after their campus visit.
For the first time during Spring 2009, we will offer a third virtual career fair entitled: Virtual Internship and Summer/Part-time Job Fair. This fair will be active during February 18th through March 6th. If you are interested in participating, please contact Beth Medley at 816-235-1225 or medleyb@umkc.edu.

Employer Panels
Throughout the year, academic units, student organizations and Career Services plan employer panels for students interested in learning more about internship and employment opportunities. If you are interested in participating in a panel, we encourage you to contact us early in the fall and spring semesters. It generally takes us several weeks to contact student organizations and faculty to identify interest and then plan/advertise the event.
Career Days
The School of Computing and Engineering and the Department of Sociology/Criminal Justice and Criminology sponsor Career Days each year to provide students with a valuable opportunity to explore career opportunities in related fields.
