The Student Employee of the Year Program is sponsored by The Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators organization. This program is coordinated by Career Services in cooperation with the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. Join with us in a memorable award experience that will have a positive impact on your student personnel. There are many exceptional student employees who make an outstanding contribution to your office. You can recognize and reward your student employee’s valuable services by nominating him/her for the 2009 UMKC Student Employee of the Year award.

Eligible Students
Any undergraduate or graduate student who is on student employee payroll and serves in an official student employee position (graduate assistants, teaching assistants, research assistants, resident assistants and interns excluded).

Eligible Terms of Employment
Student must have been employed for a minimum of six months.

Selection Criteria
Students will be evaluated on the following qualities:

  1. Reliability
  2. Quality of Work
  3. Initiative
  4. Professionalism
  5. Uniqueness of Contribution

Nomination Procedures
To nominate your student for this annual award:

Nominations will occur in late January/early February. The campus winner will be selected, by a panel of judges, in late February. The campus winner’s information will be forwarded to the Missouri state committee. The recipient of the state award will be forwarded to the regional committee and, finally, to the national committee. The campus winner will receive a $1000.00 scholarship to be awarded at a reception for all nominees April 2009.
