We help students identify and apply for prestigious, nationally competitive, external merit awards. These scholarships and fellowships fund undergraduate and graduate study, research and various work and study abroad experiences.

Our Manager of Nationally Competitive Awards supports UMKC students through the following services:

  • Identifies and recruits candidates for programs
  • Advises students on national and international award opportunities
  • Assists with scholarship and fellowship applications
  • Maintains a resource library, including guidelines for completing award applications
  • Supports UMKC faculty participation in recruiting and advising
  • Represents UMKC nationally to foundations and other fellowships advisors
  • Coordinates campus review committees

During your research, consider the following factors: what you want to get out of a fellowship/scholarship program, the length program you are willing to consider, and whether or not you want to travel outside of the United States.
