The ASF offers year-long and short-term fellowships to graduate students and academic professionals interested in pursuing research in the Nordic region.

Overview

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers year-long and short-term fellowships to graduate students (preferably conducting dissertation research) and academic professionals interested in pursuing research or creative-arts projects in the Nordic region. Priority is given to candidates at the graduate level for dissertation-related research. Awards are made in all fields.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Have completed their undergraduate education by the start of their project in the Nordic region

Award

  • Year-long fellowships: up to $23,000
  • Short-term fellowships (1-3 months): up to $5,000
