Princeton in Asia (PiA) fellowships are one- or two-year immersive work placements at host organizations in Asia. In the Class of 2024, Fellows will be paced in Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. PiA Fellows develop skills and contribute to the work of host organizations in a variety of diverse focus areas:
PiA Fellowships emphasize cultural immersion and contributing to host communities. Fellows are selected based on their commitment to furthering the PiA mission of fostering mutual appreciation and cross-cultural understanding between the United States and Asia.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, and some positions may require additional work experience or credentials. Candidates with master’s degrees are eligible, but not those with terminal or professional degrees (e.g., Ph.D., medical, law, etc.). PiA applicants are generally college seniors or recent college graduates. There is no age limit for applying to PiA.
While PiA does not restrict eligibility based on U.S. citizenship or residency status, all candidates must present a compelling rationale for how they will contribute to PiA’s mission of U.S.-Asia exchange. Please note that host countries’ visa restrictions may limit ability to place citizens of certain nationalities.
